Windows
We recently constructed the above dormer. There are various ways of building a dormer, we will always discuss the construction with yourselves to achieve the best possible results and in keeping with your property and surrounding area.
Dormers add more space and have standard windows to use, velux windows can be added to any part of a roof structure. Adding more light, velux windows are a good addition. If accessible we will fit top hung velux's as standard (these also centre pivot) allowing the user to look out easily, and with no part of the window protruding into the room (unlike centre pivot). If non-accessible or hard to reach centre pivot velux's would be the preferred choice, as they are easier to open. To view various velux windows click here.
When planning the window layout for your house its advisable to have windows to 2 opposite sides, this will allow a nice air flow through the room during hot weather.
Built-in features
We can build wardrobes, cupboards to your requirements whilst carrying out your main work, whether built-in or free standing.
Also ledges and alcoves, which can become useful additions.
Stairs
We build all our staircases in place, which eliminates possible problems arising.
Note:If the staircase is built away from your property there is the risk of not fitting true to the walls and the matter of manoeuvring the staircase into your property.
